SAE:
My SAE is Agriculture Education and I really enjoy teaching students at such a young age about agriculture and it's importance to our community. By working with several organizations and groups throughout my local community, I am able to provide agriculture awareness to school age children across the county.

Favorite CDE:
My favorite CDE is the Creed Speaking event. As a freshman I came into FFA lacking the confidence to talk in front of groups of people or even my fellow classmates. Participating in the Creed speaking event allowed me to improve my speaking skills and become a lot more comfortable speaking in front of people. Also, it allowed me to develop a love and passion for the FFA. By memorizing and reciting the five paragraph creed, I was able to receive a glimpse of what FFA stood for and where exactly my place was in FFA. I encourage freshman members to participate in this event! It's an exciting event that allows you to gain valuable public speaking experience!
Favorite Ag Class:
My favorite Ag class has most likely been Agriscience. It was my first Ag class in high school and it really encouraged me to take many more ag classes throughout my high school career. This class taught me a lot about agriculture as well as FFA and motivated me to become a bigger part in my local FFA chapter. It's a really interesting class that prepares you for several other agriculture classes to take in the future.
Describe a time when you set a goal within the FFA and were not able to meet it; what did you learn?
This past year my team and I competed in the Horse Judging CDE in the fall. We had spent several hours and practices writing reasons and watching different classes mulitple times. We thought we were fully prepared and could possibly win the contest. However, our team didn't reach our goal. We came up short. The team was disappointed but we knew that we had to use this experience to our advantage. This experience has motivated me to compete on our local 4-H team and gain even more experience in horse judging. Also, my fellow teammates and I have already began to practice for the contest and have planned to attend multiple contests before the event that will prepare us even more. This disappointment allowed my team and I to grow and become even more motivated to reach our goal this next year.
What are you looking forward to most during your year as a Regional Officer?
The thing that I am looking forward to most during this next year is meeting several new members across the Middle TN Region. I am so excited to meet new greenhand members at the Greenhand Conference as well as the many other members at multiple CDE competitions throughout the entire year! I thoroughly enjoy meeting new faces at FFA events and love giving them a word of encouragement before they go in for their competition. I can't wait to meet many new individuals this year and motivate them to reach for their goals!
