Running for Regional Office

Do you want to take the next step in your FFA career?

Do you desire to serve a larger group of FFA members who can benefit from your enthusiasm and experience?
Do you want to create an amazing Greenhand Conference for the newest members of Middle Tennessee FFA?

If so, running for regional office may be for you!

Duties of a regional officer include:

· Serving on Courtesy Corps. at State FFA ConventionCreating and conducting New Member Conference

 Attending ROPE and a regional officer retreat

 Attending and assisting in regional CDEs and other events

 Regional President attends National FFA Convention as a delegate with State FFA Officers, and other regional officers may be asked to fill empty delegate seats

 Planning and conducting the Middle TN FFA Regional Banquet each year

To run for a regional office:

There will be a Nominating Committee with agriculture teachers and industry professionals who are very familiar with FFA scoring the interviews. The selection includes the following -

  • APPLICATION: 100 points
  • Pre-scored and added to the judges totals.

  • INTERVIEW: 400 points
  • Leadership interview following the rubric available for download below, adapted from the state officer selection rubric, so there is consistency from one year to another in what we’re looking for.
  • For anyone who may not be familiar with the rubric, keep in mind that the student should be able to demonstrate each area of the rubric through their answer. For example, to determine what score to give for “Organizational Skills,” the corresponding question may be, “Describe how you keep up with all of your obligations.”
