Favorite CDE:
My favorite CDE is the Creed Speaking Competition. Not only does it grant opportunities for new members to begin their FFA career, but it also teaches the values, beliefs, and background of our association!
Favorite Ag Class:
My favorite Ag class so far has been our Leadership Skills class. Leadership is of the utmost importance to succeed in the FFA and life. Through the curriculum outlined in that class, I was given a new outlook on the presence of a true leader, one that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more.
Describe a time when you set a goal within the FFA and were not able to meet it; what did you learn?
My junior year I had set my main goal as winning the state Extemporaneous Public Speaking CDE. I was able to compete in the finals round at the state level; however, I received runner-up. As I look back on this experience now, though, I realize the importance of failure in learning true lessons. I now have a confidence in speaking extemporaneously as well as a new found respect for not always meeting the original goal.
What are you looking forward to most during your year as a Regional Officer?
The most exciting thing that I'm looking forward to this year as a regional officer is attending competitions as the encourager instead of the competitor! I can't wait to see Middle Tennessee FFA members shine!
